iPhone Tax Calculator
As an exercise in development on a new platform, and because we like the iPhone so much, the Noesis Dev Team have created a small and useful iPhone application that calculates Australian wages and tax.
This handy little app works by allowing the user to enter any known quantity in the tax equation and automagically computing the rest of the values in a what-if scenario fashion.
The calculator can accept different tax years, periods of a week to a year and options such as Medicare Levy and Australian Residency.
Examples
Suppose you are offered a salary package, including super, of $120,000 PA. How much take home pay would that result in? Just enter 120,000 into the Total Wages field and then read off the Net field.
What if you know you need $1000 a week net minimum to support your mortgage. How much would you need in gross wages? Switch to weekly calculations, key 1000 into the Net area and the answer is available.
